2017 OPL Scholastic Xiangqi Tournament
1. Organiser: OPL (Office of Philip Loh)

3. Date: Saturday, 9th Sept 2017 (Sat)
4. Venue: Centre for Excellence @ Great Eastern Centre, 1 Pickering Street (Level 2- access via escalator)
5. Objective: To promote traditional mind game culture in Singapore as an integral part of healthy living

Registration fee for U10, U14 and Student Open is $20. Registration fee for Open category is $30 (Registration fee for seniors for the Open category, age 65 and above, is discounted at $20)
7. Registration: To take part in the tournament, participant will need to SMS the following information to 9698 4134 and transfer registration fee to DBS 001-0-169341 (via internet banking)
- Full name in English
- Name of school
- Category taking part
- Bank name and Bank Account number used for bank transfer
e.g. David Tan, Chinese High, Under 14, POSB XXX-X-XXXXX
Alternatively, mail or submit the registration form to Singapore Xiangqi General Association: 51 Bishan St-13 #01-01 Singapore 579799 and make payment by cash on the actual day before 930am at the tournament venue.
8. The last day of registration will be on the 3rd Sept 2017.
9. Lunch would be provided for all participants
10. Dress code: Smart casual. No T-shirts (minimum polo tees or short-sleeved shirts), shorts, slippers, scandal, etc. Participants who do not meet the minimum smart casual dress code
shall be denied participation even if they have successfully registered. Students taking part in the team category are required to come in their school uniforms.

12. Game rules
? Game rules shall follow Asian Xiangqi Federation rules.
? Time control is 10 minutes per side, with an increment of 5 seconds per move. Players who use up their allocated time lose the game.
? Players may request the arbiter to declare a game a draw if they have a clear board advantage or if the game has reached a draw scenario.
? The arbiter may declare a draw without players requesting it if a draw scenario is reached.
13. Tournament format
- The Swiss system is adopted for the competition.
- Participants who are late for five (5) minutes or more are considered to have forfeited the game
- Absence from any game without valid explanation will result in immediate disqualification
14. Awards
Trophies for top 45% finishers of respective categories.
A team trophy and certificate of achievement will be awarded to the top performing school for U10, U14 and Student Open (Based on the performance of the top 2 players and the number of participants from the same school)
Robinson shopping vouchers worth $200, $150 and $100 would be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the Open category and $100 for top senior player (Age 65 and above)
15. The organiser reserves the right to amend the above rules and regulations without notification.

比赛分为四个组别,分别是U10组(十岁以下),U14组(十四岁以下),学生公开组(在籍学生)和公开组。
报名截止日为9月3日。
